Who we are

This website is operated by James Wade Digital Consulting ("we", "us", "our"), based in Bermuda. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit wadedigitalconsulting.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways:

Information you give us

When you use our contact form or message us on WhatsApp, we receive whatever you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our server and any analytics tools we use may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and how you interact with the site. Some of this is collected through cookies (see below).

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use three categories:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function correctly (for example, remembering your cookie preference). These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the site (for example, Google Analytics), so we can improve it. These are only set if you accept them.
  • Marketing measurement cookies — help us measure how our marketing performs and how many website enquiries it leads to (the Meta Pixel). These are only set if you accept them.

When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline analytics and marketing cookies. If you decline, neither Google Analytics nor the Meta Pixel runs. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page.

Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site — for example, which pages are popular and how people found us. Google Analytics only runs after you accept analytics cookies. It collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location (city/region level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site (e.g. search engine, social media).

Google acts as an independent data controller for this data under its own privacy terms. You can learn more about how Google handles this information at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Meta Pixel

If you accept cookies, we use the Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., the company behind Facebook and Instagram) to measure how our marketing performs. It records that a page was viewed and, when you successfully submit our contact form, that an enquiry (a "Lead") took place. Meta receives technical information such as your IP address, browser details and cookie identifiers along with these events.

We do not send the contents of your contact form — your name, email address, phone number or message — to Meta. The Meta Pixel does not run if you decline cookies. Meta handles the data it receives under its own privacy terms, available at facebook.com/privacy/policy, and you can manage how Meta uses data for ads in your Meta ad preferences.

Other third-party services

Parts of this site rely on third-party tools that may process a limited amount of data on our behalf:

  • Contact form (Google Sheets and Google Apps Script) — the details you submit through our contact form are stored in a Google Sheet and emailed to us so we can respond to you.
  • WhatsApp — if you click "Chat with us," you leave our website and continue the conversation within WhatsApp, governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide the services you ask for
  • Understand how our website is used so we can improve it
  • Meet our legal and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry and contact information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and maintain business records, and then delete or anonymize it. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the analytics tool in use (typically no longer than 14 months for Google Analytics).

Your rights

As a Bermuda-based business, we handle personal information in line with Bermuda's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Depending on where you're located, you may also have rights under other laws, such as the EU/UK GDPR if you are visiting from the European Union or United Kingdom. Generally, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your information
  • Withdraw cookie/analytics consent at any time (via "Cookie Settings" in the footer)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

Our website and services are directed at businesses and adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as our tools or legal obligations change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
